Starting over!

It was my New Years resolution to start this blog, now that half the year has gone I am resolving to write on it!

I have been footering a fair bit, even though I haven't been on here to share. I have also become an Independent Stampin' Up demonstrator, so I can footer and call it business. My craft buying habit has therefore exploded, with Mr Footerer being told "you have to speculate to accumulate"! Well, if I don't have the product, how can I possibly sell it's benefits to someone else?!

So, I promise I will be back in the next few days to share some photos of my recent footering, but it's late now so

Night night! Dx

52 cards challenge - week 4

Ooooh on here twice in one day! Here is my attempt at the sketch designed by Mystic Nat on UKS. Sorry - I have no idea how to copy the sketch over to here

Off to do some selling type ones - I've been for a wee walk along the Main Street where I live. There are a few independent shops selling handmade cards for ideas about what to charge.

Long Time No Footer!

Despite not having worked since last Wednesday and being home alone, I have not managed to do any footering at all until today! I've seen lots of friends, who are all making sure I'm not lonely, been for two long walks and taken my little friend ice skating, but no playing with paper. This is a problem as I'm supposed to have some cards ready to sell for next weekend to meet a challenge set by a friend at work. I want to stop working Sundays and am going to venture into selling my crafts to try to fund this. Better get to work!

My first attempt this morning has been last weeks 52 card challenge on the theme of bunting, banners and flags. I'm not that happy with it - I think it needs something, but I'm not sure what. Maybe it's just too big.

I hand cut the bunting and flag out of some scraps and the paper was in my bag of bits, so I have used up some stash which is at least a step in the right direction.

Ok, now to work! I'll be back later to show off some of my "stock". I want to make some basic cards to take to work for opinions on Thursday. I've not bought any new stuff so I'll be using stash all the way. Now I've written it down here I'll have to do it!

see you later

Week two of cards challenge

This weeks prompts in the 52 card challenge on UK Scrappers were
- primary colours
- journalling spot
- handmade embellishment

I love primary colours and am part way through a holiday mini book (2009 holiday - shameful!) so used up some scraps. I don't remember the manufacturer of the papers but I'm sure they were called "Campfire". I got them in Scrappy Boutique in Orlando when I was there in March.

I made the wee owl using instructions in the February issue of Papercraft Inspirations. I'd taken a fancy to him while flicking through and thought he was perfect to meet the handmade embellishment prompt.

I've not put any writing on the card yet because I've not decided what it's for yet!

I've now got to go and get ready for work tomorrow - three more days to go and them I'm off again! I'm also home alone for a couple of weeks so I can do lots of catching up with scrapping and cards and challenges.

I'm also planning on having a go at the UKS Art Journey, although I'm already behind with that! I was hoping to make a journal using my Bind it All, but in the interest of not falling behind I may have to use one from my stash of notebooks! I'll see how much time I have on Thursday and Friday once I'm off work and get back to you!

Over and out!

No Footering!

I'm not doing too well with the footering now am I? Had a weekend of Bloke being off work so some "quality time" was spent - not in my playroom though was it?! I did manage to borrow some children to go and see Happy Feet 2 at the cinema on Sunday - right up my street.

I am now back at work for a seven day sentence - but am planning my future footering every minute!

Short and sweet tonight - back soon!

Two Firsts in One Night!

My first ever blog post! I am not completely sure what I'm doing with this, please bear with me while I attempt to get the hang of it. I've always got plenty to say for myself, so I shouldn't have too much trouble with the words, but the technology might get the better of me to start with. I'll footer about til I get it though.

The second first of tonight is my first ever challenge on the UK Scrappers website. Among other things (which will most likely appear here in the future) I have promised myself that I will take part in these challenges to keep myself crafting this year. I am terrible at making time to play and waste loads of time footering with horrible stuff like housework instead of using all my lovely toys! That is why I've started this blog - to record all the stuff I make (and my general ramblings - sorry!)

So, here is the card I have made tonight for the 52 cards challenge. Many many apologies for the screening - didn't think you'd want to see my dirty dishes and the light is best in the kitchen!

The challenge was to make a card with the theme of "new" and using circles and scallops. This was the perfect opporchancity to make a card for my friends' new baby boy. I'm hoping that following this challenge will mean I'm not rushing at the last minute to make cards for such events - or worse - buying one! The shame! The horror!

Anyway - done for today - I hope this is in some way coherent!

Night night!
